While standing in a field with the wind and rain chilling me to the bone, one of the photo participants reiterated a suggestion of Joel’s from class- to turn around, sometimes the best photo opportunity is behind you.

I have found this to be true more often than not.

I was totally uninspired by the wet field of poppies in front of me… so I turned around and found this beautiful dog sitting quietly, in the rain, watching me.

The trick is to be aware and present in the moment so that you don’t miss what is in front of you, or more often, what is behind you.

You really captured these pristine pets so finely. They are so calm they look like “models”! Also love the setting of the photos to set off the serene beauty of Italy. How much fun you are all having!

The picutres are wonderful. The animlal do look as if they posed for you.I think it is a nice contrast of color with the white cat and orange flowers. I know you all are having fun,

Hi Michelle: I’m thrilled for you. You talked about this possibility some time ago. How exciting. I love the photos and your comments. It all resonates so much with what I think about, savoring the moment, really looking, etc. I’ll look forward to hearing and seeing more when you get back.
