Ciao from Sicilia! After some technical difficulties with the blog, we’re in business in Modica. We’ve had mostly beautiful weather with one drenching rain storm. It’s all good… Yesterday, we tried the famous chocolate- sometimes the old ways are the best ways. Modern chocolate is heated to a point so the sugar is melted, but Modica chocolate is not heated to this degree and has a granular texture- this results in a much more intense chocolate flavor than I’ve ever experienced.
Today, we saw Siracusa and enjoyed the sights and sounds of this formerly powerful Greek city. The photos here are from Siracusa and a town near Modica.
Ciao for now…

Love this photo of the two windows is fabulous. I love how much it shows the “old” weatherdness vs the “contemporary” way of living in this area as the building still stands. By the way, I recently heard that Panasonic no longer makes the Luminex type of point and shoot. My sister and I are planning a trip to Paris for Christmas. Do you recommend a good, easy to use, “point and shoot?”

Welcome back to Italy! How wonderful to see your posts! Looking forward to more… and now I’d like some Sicilian chocolate! Hopefully I can find some in Tuscany. 🙂
