There were no filters or special effects used to create this image. This is a special image for me so I made only this one original. No others will be created.
As an experienced photographic artist I know at the time of capture when I’ve succeeded. But in
the case of these sand dunes it was far more than just capturing a sense of being there. This is an image that communicates many things. In spite of freezing temperatures I couldn’t resist the soft light of the overcast skies. This rendered the shape of the dunes barely perceptible with soft flowing lines. I knew it would be difficult to print but this image embodies what I saw in my mind’s eye when I captured it. I limited my depth of field to the dunes, blurring the background mountains to a point
where they are not immediately obvious, thus accentuating the sense of tranquility and restfulness.
