I was on a hike in the Grand Canyon not far from the Colorado River. It had been raining on and off all day. The stormy day provided a nice backdrop for creating this image of visual layers. Typically one thinks of rock formations creating visual layers in the canyon. In this case by venturing off the main trail and waiting for the sun to peek through the clouds I was able to create layers with prairie-type terrain and spots of sunlight on the rocks mimicking the spotted prairie in the canyon.
