The setting sun was dropping below the Teton range providing backlighting and accentuating the grazing bison and prairie. I positioned myself to get veiling flare which lowers the contrast of the mountains, making the foreground stand out. Normally this moutain range is so dominant it’s hard to see anything else. The diagonals of the sunlight also bring one’s eye to the other range one might not normally notice.
