I captured this over 30 years ago. I chose an overcast day to blend the sky with the frozen lake allowing the statue replica to stand out in an austere setting. Little did I know how poignant this image would become. It now represents our vanishing civil liberties and the precariousness of our once staid U.S. Constitution. However Lady Liberty still emerges proud from the frozen tundra and gives us hope that we will regain the liberties that were once the heart of our country.
