Archive for August, 2010
Here is Joel’s new release from our most recent trip to Italy in May, titled “Rosso.” It’s a new personal favorite of mine… and I’m not usually into abstracts! Please join us this Saturday or Sunday at the studio (10AM-5PM) for Flagstaff Open Studios. If you don’t have time to pick up a brochure/map in town you can download one here. Or contact us for directions.
We’re hosting 3 great artists- pottery and paintings by Garry Sanden, fine silver and gold jewelry by Joan Gould, and mixed media gourds by Jane Boggs. We’ll also have live music and homemade cookies!
Besides the amazing artwork, it’s beautiful at the studio right now- we have lots of sunflowers and other wildflowers on the property. I’ll be happy to give a little flower tour if anyone is interested.
Hope to see you!
Ok, so some of you may not be thrilled with snakes, but I think they’re amazing! What other animal with no arms and no legs can climb trees? Not the best photo I’ve taken, but I wanted to share this gopher snake we saw on the Forest Service land near our house- isn’t he (or she) beautiful? They are non-venomous and often mistaken for rattle snakes because they mimic the sound of a rattle and have similar markings. They are great snakes to have around- better than cats at eliminating unwanted rodents!
This weekend we hold our Lightroom workshop and then onto Flagstaff Open Studios for the last weekend of August.
Ciao!
