On the way to Tuscany!

The blog has been silent for a while and we apologize for that… There has been news, but not much time to talk about it!  The biggest news is that I am 7 months pregnant and won’t be able to join Joel in Tuscany this year.  He has two amazing people helping him in my place: Michelle and Brad Daniels, both of whom are experienced artists and share our passion for travel, culture and learning. Michelle will be posting photos and stories to the blog while in Tuscany- she is also a photographer’s wife, so fits the bill in many ways.

We are continuing to plan workshops for the future, most notably, Sicily for Fall 2013!  So stay tuned for some great new Tuscan stories and more…

Ciao for now!

How exciting! A lovely summer gift 🙂

We are busy planning our trip to Italy. We will be heading there in Sept into October. We will meet my sister and brother-in-law and celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Mark and I will be there before them and will be doing a cruise from Rome to Athens. The primary places in Italy we will be are Rome, Florence, and Sienna. Suggestions are welcomed! 🙂

Sounds like a wonderful trip Susan! As far as things to see, in Rome of course the biggies are the Coliseum, Vatican City, and the Pantheon- all worth it! It’s also worth getting a private tour at Vatican City if you have time… Florence- the Uffizi is one of my favorites, as well as the Duomo, and the Boboli Gardens! If you’re into history, Fiesole has Estruscan and Roman ruins and is not far outside Florence. Siena is small enough you can see a lot in a short time. One of my favorite things to do in Siena is people watch and La Piazza del Campo is the best spot (where they run the horse race- Il Palio). Be sure to eat plenty of gelato- it’s required 🙂 Have a fabulous time!
