What a Beautiful Gopher Snake

Ok, so some of you may not be thrilled with snakes, but I think they’re amazing!  What other animal with no arms and no legs can climb trees?  Not the best photo I’ve taken, but I wanted to share this gopher snake we saw on the Forest Service land near our house- isn’t he (or she) beautiful?  They are non-venomous and often mistaken for rattle snakes because they mimic the sound of a rattle and have similar markings.  They are great snakes to have around- better than cats at eliminating unwanted rodents!

This weekend we hold our Lightroom workshop and then onto Flagstaff Open Studios for the last weekend of August.

Ciao!
