A Piece of History

As promised, here’s a shot of Joel’s dessert from our amazing lunch yesterday, tarte aux pommes.  It’s all about presentation...  and taste!  Today, we returned to a favorite shooting location, which also happens to be on the schedule for our September workshop.  It’s a former Roman stronghold, complete with ruins.  After the fall of Rome, much of … [Read more...]

Market Day

olives

We went to a great market Wednesday in a nearby village.  These are a couple of Joel’s snapshots.  Of course we HAD to buy some of these olives- amazing!  So many olives, so little time...  The classic Citroën was too cute to pass up.  We had the most amazing lunch at one of the restaurants scheduled for our September workshop.  As usual, it looked … [Read more...]

We’re Here!

Well, we made it to France, a little tired, but we're trying to do as much as possible to stave off jetlag!  Here are a couple snaphots from our first day here...  As you can see we're staying in a classic Provençal gîte (apartment).  Funny, neither of us likes fresh tomatoes, but these tomatoes at the local store were beautiful!  We also had to go … [Read more...]

Preparation

For the last few days, I've been mapping out our first week in Provence this May.  We will visit every stop on our September photo tour before heading to Tuscany.  Here are a couple snapshots I took the last time we were in Provence- both in towns we will visit on our tour. We've also been choosing the mouth-watering menus for our Tuscany … [Read more...]
